The Hound of the Baskervilles is a British mystery film directed by Gareth Gundrey and starring Robert Rendel as Sherlock Holmes, Frederick Lloyd as Dr John Watson, and John Stuart as Henry Baskerville, directed by Gareth Gundrey. The screenplay was written by Edgar Wallace and this is the first sound film version of The Hound of the Baskervilles. For decades the film was regarded as a partially lost film as only the film, itself, existed but missing the soundtrack. Fortunately, the Rank Corporation in 1991 discovered a complete set of negatives and soundtracks who donated the material to the British Film Institute where the film can now be seen complete.
