1920's Dmitroshin, A.A., Russian Impressionist Landscape, Rare Subject Matter

Description: NOTE: This item is part of our June inventory clearance sale ending June 29th. Most items listed in this sale are priced at or below cost. This is an attempt to clear our inventory as we transition into an anchor store. The items in our current store represent about 5 percent of our inventory - our goal is to have 50% of our inventory listed by the end of summer, so please check back often for new listings. Thanks to all of our customers - you are wonderful! We have only seen one other piece by Dmitroshin appear at auction. This piece is an impressionist masterwork. This is in the style of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia, a group of Russian artists in the 1920's, that focused on creating art that depicting working class Russians in everyday life. The color palate of this piece also reflects the colors associated with the proletariat working class and Communist party during this era. It depicts a landscape with what appears to be a father taking his child fishing or hunting. This subject matter is hard to find in early Russian Impressionist pieces. It is signed on the lower right. The piece is entitled "Warm Evening", but we suspect this was added later along with the 'prior to 1989' creation date on the reverse. The canvas, stretcher and nails place this piece in the 1910 - 1930 period. Stunning piece measuring 13" x 12 3/4". Please read condition report and see photos.
