Description: 1908 Germany Deutschland 100 Marks Reichs Bank Note. RED SEALS. Shipped USPS First Class. This Pre-World War I note features the Deutsch Imperial Eagle prominently on obverse & several female figures on reverse. Not the first time these motifs were used on a 100 mark note. Designs were 1st used on 1895 issue of same denomination. Reichsbank was the main central bank of Germany from 1876-1945. Founded in 1876 shortly after German Empire was established, the bank was privately owned bank of Prussia but under strict controls of Reich Government. Prior to this unification, Germans had 31 central banks as all independent states issued their own currency. After several changes and compromises, a law was passed in 1875. Despite creation of the Reichsbank, however, four of the Notenbanken – Baden, Bavaria, Saxony and Württemberg – continued to exist until 1914. The stunning artwork is in magnificent condition with colors being true and bold and the note itself is very fine in quality.
