Description: 1880s WESTWARD HO Frosted Glass CREAM PITCHER, Gillinder Pioneer, Stag & Cabin Click images to enlarge Description ANTIQUE WESTWARD HO CREAM PITCHER Striking and wonderful antique frosted or acid finish cream pitcher measuring 6-5/8" in height - I don't know the exact date of issue, but this pattern was discontinued in 1879 - these are family pieces that have been passed down - they are not reproductions. This is a substantial piece with a wonderful thick pressed foot - frosted side is crisply detailed with a leaping stag, homey cabin, and charging Buffalo against a Western themed ground -- top edge bears a scallop and point design and handle is pressed with a wonderful dog head accent as shown - lovely quality. Condition is very nice with some cased bubbles, waviness to the glass, a faint stretch mark at the handle curve, a hint of roughness on the fine seams from molding, and the tiny dog nose on the handle base feels rough -- I've looked it over with a magnifier and can't see anything missing, but the nose top is clear, so guessing there is a flake at that point - it is minute and does not detract. Think this is the most amazing pattern - designs are almost 3-dimensional around the frosted bowl - lovely addition to any home, collection or display! If questions, please contact me - thanks!
