Condition: Good ITEM DESCRIPTION Today we are pleased to offer this nicely preserved volume on horticulture! A great find from a local New England estate! This scarce antique volume is over 167 years old! In great shape overall! Contemporary half leather binding shows some wear for age, including rubbing and soiling to the boards and spine, wear to the joints, general wear around the extremities including bumping to the corners and spine extremes, and light rubbing and soiling to the marbled page edges. Otherwise this is an attractive, well-preserved antique volume! Tight and square! The gilt title lettering displays nicely from the shelf despite rubbing. Internally, this volume is in good shape overall. Both boards and all page groupings remain firmly attached to the binding. There are some notes written in pencil visible on the front fly pages and the title page, however there are no signatures, inscriptions, bookplates or library markings to note. The text block of this volume is clean throughout. There is typical age-related toning to the pages, some light markings in pencil in spots, and soiling and foxing scattered throughout, but otherwise this volume is clean and free from rips, tears, and other blemishes. Perfectly readable throughout! Beautifully illustrated throughout with engravings and color plates. One color plate appears to be missing in the September issue - the Tea China Rose.
