Description: ~~Original Antique Map~~ United States of America1826 Original antique map of early United States, just 20 years after Lewis and Clark finished their expedition. Very interesting period in history, as the entire East side of the country is decided and remains nearly identical today. Texas, California, and nearly all the Southwest are still part of Mexico, and everything in the North is just 'Oregon Territory', and the 49th Parallel border between Washington and Canada (British America) still is undecided. Hand colored by watercolor around borders of each state and territory. Printed Dec. 28th 1826. 14.25" x 19.5". Edges chipped and worn, some loss to corners and around outside edges; age toning down center line. Nearly 200 years old, and still looks pretty good for age. I will ship flat with plenty of protection from damage or being bent/folded. Currently housed in archival plastic, on top of a acid free book board, I know it looks like cardboard, but it is acid free. If I have a restoration between now and when it sells I may need to find another backing material, but I do not have any projects that will need it for now, so It'll probably just ship as it is seen in the pictures.
