The majority of metal platform beds are a universal height, sitting at 14 inches tall. This mattress and metal platform extender is for animal use only. This kit can be used on any bed, not just metal platform beds. You can place this extender at the end, OR SIDE of any bed, just would not attach with c-clamps if you DO NOT have a metal platform bed.
